Your stories are professionally edited and mixed to create a polished, timeless recording. We provide both digital copies for easy sharing and physical copies for safekeeping. Although in-person interviews are ideal, we understand that distance can be a barrier. We facilitate remote interviews through video calls, ensuring the same high-quality recording standards. Our team will guide you through the process, making the experience smooth and natural for everyone, no matter where they are located.
Recording sessions typically last around 60 minutes, depending on the stories shared and the participant's comfort level. On average, it takes about three sessions to capture a full, rich narrative. We can take breaks as needed, and to keep the experience relaxed and comfortable, it's best to space the sessions over a few days.
We come to wherever is most comfortable for your loved one – whether that's your home, a family member's house, or another location of your choice. The key is finding a quiet, comfortable space where stories can flow naturally.
We offer a preparation guide to help you plan, with guidance on crafting meaningful questions that encourage storytelling and reflection. We can also help coordinate with family members to gather questions they'd like to have answered.
The most rewarding part of this process is that it's not just a series of questions and answers. As the interview unfolds, the conversation can evolve naturally based on the responses, allowing for deeper dives into topics that emerge organically. Whether it's the interviewer or interviewee who chooses to explore these areas, the process becomes reflective, authentic, and rich with personal insights.
You'll receive both digital and physical copies of your recording. Digital files are provided in high-quality audio formats compatible with all devices, and physical copies are professionally produced for long-term preservation. Raw, unedited audio files can be provided upon request.
Our professional editing process includes removing any technical issues, long pauses, or interruptions, while maintaining the natural flow of conversation. You'll receive an initial edit of your recordings to listen to, and if there's anything you'd like removed, we'll take care of those adjustments in the final revision. Additionally, we like to add appropriate music to the intro and outro of the conversation, and can create themed segments or chapters if desired (or if you want a minute-long collage of your loved one laughing, we can make that happen).
